Controversial English Premier League center referee Anthony Taylor has been appointed by FIFA to take charge of Ghana’s game against Asian powerhouse South Korea on November 28 at the Education City Stadium in Al Wakrah at 1pm.

He will be assisted by Gary Beswick and Adam Nunn.

The Koreans drew 0-0 with Uruguay in their 2022 World Cup opener on Thursday in a tight clash that was lacking quality at the sharp end of the pitch for both outfits.

That score was a fair result for South Korea against their South American counterparts who are ranked 14 places above them in the FIFA World Rankings, keeping their qualification hopes alive.

Otto Addo’s Black Stars from Ghana are the youngest team competing at this year’s World Cup and will hope to bounce back from that defeat on Monday.

Ghana lost 3-2 to Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal and anything apart from a win may jeopardize Ghana’s qualification to the next stage of the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament in Qatar.
