GHANA: Koforidua goes Agog with the Coronation of New Dwaben Chief

The New Dwaben traditional area found a successor for Dasebre Professor Emeritus Oti Boateng. The new paramount chief has the stool name Nana Kwaku Boateng III. The 51-year-old businessman known in private life as John Kwadwo Yeboah Gyamfi was installed at the forecourt of Yiadom Hwedie Palace at Koforidua in the eastern region of the Republic of Ghana on June 27, 2022.

Nana Kwaku Boateng III was born in March 1, 1971 at Koforidua to Nana Kumnipa IV, chief of Kwahu Twenedurase and Obaapanin Akua Sara from Oyoko matrilineal clan in the New Dwaben traditional area.  Before travelling to Germany, he went to St. Peter’s Secondary School and New Dwaben Secondary School where he obtained Ordinary level and Advanced level certificates respectively. Koforidua residents were thrown into a joyous mood amidst a colorful display of culture and traditions.
