The 2022/23 Ghana Premier League which commenced couple of weeks ago has been suspended temporary with immediate effect, heading into match-week 4.

This is due to the reason that, AshantiGold SC who were demoted into the second division months ago, have placed an injunction on the league which had commenced already.

The Ghana FA were notified following a motion on notice for injunction filed at the Human Rights High Court which was served on the association’s lawyers last Wednesday afternoon.

This means the league will suffer a temporal suspension now until the final ruling of the issue is passed by the court on October 14, 2022.

According to the GFA, they have communicated this unfortunate incident to clubs, sponsors and all partners and have also assured all stakeholders of getting the league back as soon as possible and urged them all to remain calm on the issue.

Three rounds of matches have been held already with some interesting and exciting outcomes and was heading into week 4 this Friday and subsequently the weekend.
